Atrium Health Endocrinology Pineville (Hybrid - Outpatient, Inpatient, Education)

Overview

Atrium Health seeks a BC/BE Endocrinologist to join our growing team in Pineville, North Carolina, conveniently located about 30 minutes from vibrant Uptown Charlotte. This is a hybrid role combining endocrinology patient care and teaching responsibilities. 

In this position you will: 

• Work office hours Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm 
• Share in the call schedule 
• Have diabetes education and support 
• Have dedicated time for teaching medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers 
• Lead inpatient consultations and collaborate with APPs for inpatient and outpatient care 
• Work closely with the Atrium Wake Forest School of Medicine 
• Maintain a healthy outpatient endocrinology practice 

We are looking for candidates with: 

• Ideally 1+ years experience as an endocrinologist 
• Board certified or board eligible in Endocrinology 
• Ultrasound guided thyroid fine-needle aspiration experience (preferred) 
• Strong teaching skills and experience 

The position will benefit from Atrium Health’s close partnership with Wake Forest University School of Medicine, which will open a new Medical School campus in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2024. The position offers the opportunity to capitalize on the extensive Atrium Health clinical footprint, which includes 42 inpatient and 1100 outpatient facilities with access to over 2.3 million patients in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, as well as the integration of Atrium Health and Advocate Aurora Health, which operates facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin. The new combined entity, Advocate Health, is now the fifth largest not-for-profit health system in the United States. Research across Atrium Health is coordinated by the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Clinical and Translational Science Institute, which operates under a single IRB and contracts office, facilitating clinical trial execution and research integration in multiple markets.
