Atrium Health’s Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a full-time Thoracic Surgery Acute Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant to join our growing team at Atrium Health’s Cabarrus campus in Concord, NC.

Practice Highlights: 

• The practice has 12 cardiac and thoracic surgeons across SHVI and 28 surgical APPs at three sites
• Busy practice averaging 1500 cases a year between cardiac and thoracic services
• The practice performs both inpatient and outpatient procedures and utilizes a closed ICU
• Schedule consists of rotating four, 10-hour dayshift schedule with rotating weekend coverage. Anticipated to work 1 weekend every 3 weeks. 
• Perioperative management of cardiac and thoracic patients involving some bedside procedures such as talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.
• Opportunity for significant autonomy with surgeons always available for questions.

Candidate Highlights:

• Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required; Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required.
• Experience in a hospital setting desired. 
• No OR responsibilities. No call. 
• Must be open to some travel between the 3 sites - Occasional coverage to other sites is required.
