Overview

Job Summary

Performs professional and administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the development, coordination and operations of the Mobile Medicine Fleet department. Performs coordination for and support of activities related to the upkeep, maintenance, and functionality of all Atrium mobile healthcare program vehicles and equipment. Maintain a working knowledge of all vehicles and equipment related to the Mobile Medicine transport capabilities. Must be available to operate required vehicles as needed and on short notice. Develops and implements short and long-term goals and objectives for administration. Manage assigned service level contracts. Develop annual budgets for service areas.

Essential Functions

  • Manages daily operations of the MM fleet, including powered and towable assets.
  • Operates assets in both emergency and non-emergency modes with patient and crew.
  • Utilizes fleet management programs and software for data tracking of assets assigned to Mobile Medicine Fleet.
  • Prepares documentation for acquisition, utilization, repair and replacement of vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintains and tracks physical inventory of supplies needed for operational support of Mobile Medicine departments.
  • Coordinating vehicle safety and compliance checks to meet regulation set by authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Coordination of NC DMV and DOT inspections and registration renewals.
  • Reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures; meets with team members to identify and solve problems, including safety policies, procedures and emergency response plan/PAIP.
  • Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommends within departmental policy, appropriate service and staffing levels.
Physical Requirements

Extended periods of sitting, and/or standing, must be able to walk comfortably up to two miles, must be able to push or pull boxes with loads up to 500 pounds and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Major activities may require the need to work under strict time pressures. Must be able to write and speak with clarity and accuracy. May operate small, medium, and large vehicles.


Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in public administration or healthcare related field or experience in administration of a program or grant; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Valid North/South Carolina Driver’s license with Class B endorsement minimum (or completed within 6 months of employment). Completes the 4-hour Defensive Driving Course and emergency vehicle operator course or equivalent required. NC/SC/NR Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic.
