Overview

Job Summary

Oversees the activities of performance improvement for assigned facilities. Mentors and coaches staff to ensure the achievement of departmental, facility, and organizational quality goals, establishing collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.

 

Essential Functions

  • Plans, oversees, and evaluates the performance improvement activities for assigned AHN facilities. 
  • Leads and directs overall day-to-day Quality activities and practices for achievement in quality improvement. 
  • Analyzes and evaluates pertinent clinical data as it relates to outcomes and resource utilization. 
  • Identifies priorities and opportunities for improvement to include education/training on performance improvement activities. 
  • Maintains effective operations and employee morale by appropriately handling hiring, orientation/training, performance review, and disciplinary actions within established policy. 
  • Assists in the development of quality goals and deploys resources to achieve these goals. 
  • Coordinates the development of annual performance improvement plan for assigned facilities. 
  • Works collaboratively with correlated departments and staff to achieve facility and Enterprise Quality and Safety goals. 
  • Develops and revises policies and procedures to enable continuous quality improvement. 
  • Provides Performance Improvement leadership and consultative services throughout Market.
  • Collaborates with AH key stakeholders and Quality staff to improve the value of our patients by evaluating opportunities for cost reduction, improving quality outcomes, and optimizing the quality and safety culture across the system. 
  • Supports other projects and initiatives as assigned. 

 

Education, Training, and Experience

Master’s Degree required.  RN or other clinical licensure preferred; certification in health care quality, patient safety or related regulatory entity preferred (required within 2 years of employment). 

 

Other Job Requirements, Licenses, Certifications

Certification in Healthcare Quality, Patient Safety or related Accreditation entity recommended. 

 

Physical Requirements

Works in an office environment which requires walking, standing, and long periods of sitting and computer use.  Occasionally requires carrying up to twenty-five (25) pounds of materials (files, projectors, laptop, etc.,).   Travels to AHN Facilities in personal vehicle as needed.  Must have a current Ga. Driver’s License.  Requires the ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure, to work in a safe and effective manner, and to handle different issues and priorities simultaneously.  Can clearly communicate verbally, in person, and in writing. Must possess a strong sense of urgency and make sound decision within limited time frame.  Carries out responsibilities in a professional manner always, as well as possesses ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other teammates on an individual and team basis.
