Job SummaryPerforms professional and administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the development, coordination and operations of the Metrolina Healthcare Preparedness program. Performs coordination for and support of activities related to the upkeep, maintenance, and functionality of all Metrolina Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (MHPC) disaster response program vehicles and equipment. Ensure proper fleet maintenance programs to all assets and vehicles. Maintain a working knowledge of all vehicles and equipment related to the State Medical Response System. Must be available to operate non-CDL required vehicles as needed and on short notice.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in public administration with 4 years of relevant work experience (emergency management, project administration, disaster management) required or 10 years relevant work experience required. Demonstrated leadership in the development and administration of diverse, long-range projects requiring coordination over a geographic region involving multiple agencies. Knowledge of principles and practices of emergency management, grant administration, and project management for local, state, and federal projects. Knowledge of trends and current developments in the field of emergency management and healthcare emergency response planning. Possess good organizational skills and be self-directed in undertaking daily activities and establishing goals. Ability to clearly express ideas verbally and in writing. Ability to provide leadership to staff, program participants and community members. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels including, federal, state and local.
