Overview

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a skilled and dedicated Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine trained physician to join our Internal Medicine Westwood team in High Point, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic and acute illnesses. Responsibilities include performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and managing ongoing patient care. The role requires excellent communication skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. The Internal Medicine Physician will also be involved in patient education and may participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery.

Physicians work to care for patients in a variety of ways, from treating chronic illnesses to advising about preventative healthcare. While physician specialties might vary, the commonality across specialties is that physicians primarily work to diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses. They often do this by performing physical exams, taking medical histories, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests, and recommending a plan of treatment. 

  •  100% Outpatient Practice: Providing a full spectrum of medical care. 
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with minimal shared call (telephone only). 
  • Team Growth: Join a team of 2 (1 MD and 1 PA) with plans to expand services for a growing patient panel. 
  • Competitive Compensation: Experienced physicians receive a one-year contract with a minimum guaranteed salary of $280K during the initial term.
  • Additional benefits include up to a $30,000 sign-on bonus for a limited time and a multi-year bonus of $30,000 paid over three years ($10,000 each anniversary year), plus performance-based Quality and Productivity Incentives.
  • Relocation Bonus: Receive a $10,000 reimbursement bonus for relocation expenses.

  • Technology: Encompass EMR system (Epic).

  • Licensure and Professional Dues: Paid by the organization.

  • Retirement Contribution: Up to 7% employer-sponsored contribution, plus matching up to a maximum of 2% of salary, and more.

Position Requirements:

  • Successful completion of M.D./D.O. from an accredited medical school. 
  • Successful completion of residency and at an accredited healthcare institution. 
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine 
  • Current M.D. or D.O. license from the State of North Carolina.  
  • Certification in BCLS, ACLS required if stress tests performed or as required by specialty. 
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing required.
