Certified Scrub Tech First Assist

Overview

What you will need:

Certified Scrub Tech First Assist is primarily responsible for providing aid in exposure, hemostatis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions that will assist the surgeon.   Prepares surgical instrumentation for sterilization and pulls together needed materials and equipment for procedures. Collaborates with physicians, nurse and surgical techs to serve in a support role within OR as part of the team which assist the entire perioperative process. 

What you will need:
-  High School Diploma or GED
-  Successful completion of course in Surgical Technology
-  Advanced education and training through an approved Allied Health Surgical Assisting education program
-  Maintain continuing education hours for recertification purposes
-  2+ years of active scrub tech experience
-  Certification in Surgical Technology
-  Certification as First Assist as determined by the National Surgical Assistant Association
