Ultrasound Techs in the Ambulatory Float Pool prepare and operate ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic scans and conduct invasive procedures alongside of a Radiologist. We put a major focus on safety guidelines and the right candidate will demonstrate appropriate knowledge of ultrasound techniques to deliver quality images and superior patient care.  

Position Highlights:

  • Shift Schedule: Various shifts, dependent upon needs – NO Holidays, Weekends, or On Call Requirements!
  • Relocation Assistance: Enjoy up to $3,000 in relocation expenses, provided the candidate meets the eligibility requirements. Paid within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Locations: Providing Coverage at Ambulatory, Outpatient Imaging Sites & Hospital Campuses across High Point, NC and Winston Salem, NC

What You’ll Need:

  • Associate’s degree or Completion of an AMA approved Radiology Program
  • Valid Sonography Certification, Registered with ARDMS or ARRT
  • Preferred – 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience.
  • Current CPR Certification – BLS Required
  • Efficient communication skills, both orally and written, to maintain good interpersonal connections with the public and internal staff members.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, applications, and job specific precautions to maintain a safe working environment that fosters teamwork.

 Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  1. Patient-Centered Approach: Prioritize patient needs when selecting procedures, techniques, equipment, and communication methods.
  2. Diagnostic-Imaging Excellence: Produces top-quality diagnostic images, ensuring proper positioning, technical factors, collimation, and patient identification; Assists with needle localization as needed; Consistently and accurately enters patient exam data information and charges in a timely manner.
  3. Communication: Effectively and compassionately explains procedures to patients, reducing anxiety and enhancing cooperation; Appropriate age and developmentally specific guidelines should be carefully followed as well.
  4. Radiation Safety: Adheres to Radiation Protection Policies and carefully limiting exposure, to maintain compliance within department and hospital. 
  5. Work Area: Maintains a clean, well-stocked, and organized workspace and notifies appropriate personnel when stock needs replenishing.
  6. Quality Assurance: Consistently performs accurate and complete quality assurance procedures in appropriate software prior to submitting scans to the Radiologist.
  7. Equipment Proficiency: Operates equipment accurately to obtain precise measurements and produce quality diagnostic images, demonstrating proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy.
  8. Other Duties as Assigned - including but not limited to transporting patients when necessary.

This role involves maintaining a clean office space and exam / procedure room settings, but carries inherent risks, including exposure to diseases, hazardous substances, and radiation. It also entails handling emergency situations, working irregular hours, and being available for short-notice absentee replacement.
