Overview
What you will do:
- Plans activities and interventions to aid pediatric patients in coping with hospitalization
- Assists patients in the continuation of normal growth and development during hospitalization
- Uses appropriate teaching materials to prepare children/families for procedures and hospitalization
- Makes appropriates referrals to outside organizations
- Describes sensory experiences, sequence of events timing and duration of procedures in developmentally appropriate language
What you need:
- High School or GED Diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Recreation Therapy Child Development Education or a closely related field
- Clinical Internship in Child Life and/or Recreation Therapy required
- One year of experience preferred
- Child Life and/or Therapeutic Recreation Certification preferred
