Monitor Tech (7p-7a)

Overview

Under the direction and general supervision of the Registered Nurse-Telemetry Unit and under the guidance of the Senior Monitor Technician provides continuous monitoring of patient EKG patterns. Performs clinical duties associated with the monitoring responsibilities. May assist in the training, orientation and guidance of other personnel relating to telemetry. Primary responsibility is for centralized telemetry monitoring; responsibility outside of the department may include performing 12 lead EKG's and associated responsibilities.

Requirements
High school education or equivalent.  
Must complete the Navicent Health EKG equipment operation and monitoring, cardiovascular telemetry equipment operation and monitoring, and basic cardiac rhythm training and examination within six (6) weeks of selection or hire. 
Experienced monitor techs may take the examination immediately and exempt the additional training if successful passing grade is achieved. 
Thereafter, must validate competency in these areas annually. 
Current AHN employee will have one year of excellent AHN work history
