Overview

What you will do:

  • Responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation which impact positively our risk-adjusted patient mortality index and risk-adjusted patient complications index. 
  • Reviews clinical documentation to assure that the documentation supports services provided to the patient and supports appropriate reimbursement for the level of services rendered to patients. 
  • Makes suggestions for documentation improvement through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, case managers and coding staff. Ensures that the documentation reflects the acuity of the patient and the patient’s severity of illness. 
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician, hospital and core measure outcomes. 
  • Educates members of the patient care team on an ongoing basis.

What you will need:

  • Education, Training, & Experience: Master’s degree in a relevant human services field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school of graduate education required or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred. 
  • 2 years of clinical experience required
