Overview

Job Summary

Operates in MedCenter Air's Communication Center in a safe and efficient manner and is responsible for all transport coordination. Takes calls for request of Helicopter, Fixed Wing and Ground transports from various agencies. Ensures the most appropriate mode of transport and vehicle is assigned to each request.



Essential Functions

  • Coordinates in a timely manner all aspects of the mission and monitors the location of all transport units at all times while maintaining safety as a priority.
  • Collects and maintains accurate records of information; including pre and post-transport patient documentation and transport records.

Physical Requirements

Clinical environment and office setting. Must be able to read and write and speak clearly, and listen attentively. Exposure to various climates. Some light lifting up to 20 pounds may be required. Ability to verbally communicate clearly and precisely in stressful situations.



Education, Experience and Certifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred. Current certification as EMD or EMT required. EMT-P certification preferred. NAACS Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire and must be maintained throughout employment. FAA dispatcher license preferred. 2 years of previous EMS/Fire/Law Enforcement/Critical Care dispatching experience preferred. 1 year of previous flight coordination (Rotor and/or Fixed Wing) experience preferred. Ability to effectively multi-task between radios, phone and computer systems. Knowledge of medical terminology, aviation terminology, FAA Regulations.
