Overview
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist seeks an exceptional physician leader (MD, DO, MD/PhD, or DO/PhD) to be the Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). Faculty Rank will be established based on the applicant’s credentials.
We are in search of a person who combines proven leadership and administrative skills with an outstanding record of academic accomplishment, dedication to excellence in clinical, research, and/or teaching, and the creative vision to help shape the future of a dynamic division. Candidates must be board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
The Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division currently includes 2 full-time physicians and a growing IVF practice with a full-time onsite Ph.D. laboratory director. In 2018, the practice moved into a new, 17,000 square foot state of the art facility to offer the full range of Reproductive Medicine services to the region. The practice includes fertility preservation, reproductive surgery (with two MIGS physicians sharing the clinical space), and the use of donor gametes and gestational carriers. Funded research in the Division involves implantation, endometriosis, and IVF failures under the direction of Dr. Bruce Lessey. Urologic infertility specialists, reproductive psychiatrists, and pediatric and medical endocrinology specialists are present at Wake Forest along with a full range of other colleagues and collaborators across the medical center and the university. Academic rank, salary and benefits will be competitive and consistent with experience. North Carolina Medical License, or eligibility for licensure, is required. Preference is for an individual at the Professor or Associate Professor Rank who is board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
As Division Chief, we expect the successful candidate to oversee our internationally recognized program which delivers comprehensive care in a state-of-the art clinic and IVF laboratory. The clinical care team, composed of 2 faculty physicians but with two current job postings, performs approximately 500 IVF cycles per year and provides the full scope of REI clinical practice services. Additional services include oocyte/embryo cryopreservation, oncofertility, LGBTQ+ family building, recurrent pregnancy loss, preimplantation genetic testing, and men’s fertility.
