Overview

Job Summary

Assists with LifeShare Carolinas’ communication initiatives and coordinates activities that build awareness of the organization's brand and mission among teammates and community.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as a representative of LifeShare’s Community Services team; coordinates and executes initiatives and provides excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Drafts and manages social media content and calendars using a variety of mediums (text, graphics, video, etc.) with the goal of providing impactful messaging consistent with the LifeShare mission and brand.
  • Stays current with social media and donation industry trends and best practices.
  • Develops programs that will engage diverse populations in supporting organ, eye, and tissue donation.
  • Understands basic healthcare and donation industry trends and benchmarks.
  • Familiar with data sources (internal & external); knows where to gather data based on requests.
  • Communicates with teammates and supervisor on a daily basis, helping with projects as needed. Informs appropriate person of project progress and/or difficulties.
  • Prepares clear, concise and focused communication/correspondence; asks questions to increase understanding.
  • Develops and researches materials for media (local, national and international) and for internal and external communications channels, including videos, articles, stories, news releases, media advisories, pitch letters and press kits.
  • Routinely integrates with Community Services manager to ensure messages and pitches are communicated as intended, and to brainstorm content ideas and potential contacts, internal and external to the organization.

Physical Requirements

Position requires a hybrid of remote and office work. Must be willing and able to respond to occasional needs on evenings and weekends. Must be able to drive and have access/use of a personal vehicle and move around campus and/or other facilities. Must be able to speak clearly on the telephone and have strong computer skills. Occasional moving of documents or supplies.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as public relations, communications, journalism, marketing or business required. Must be able to work quickly under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects at once. Excellent written and verbal skills required. Ability to set clear goals and execute projects from start to finish.
