Transfusion Safety Officer

Overview

What you will do:

• This position is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of the Blood Utilization and Management Program (B.U.M.P.).
• Works in collaboration with Quality, Risk Management, Medical Staff, Lab/Blood Bank, Pharmacy, Nursing and Patient Care Services Leadership, and the Blood Utilization Committee (B.U.C. in order to meet the set goals.
• Facilitates the appropriate use of blood products as defined by evidence-based transfusion indicators and promote optimal safety of transfusion processes. 

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• BS in Nursing or BS in Medical Technology
• Current State of Georgia license as a Registered Nurse or Medical Technologist (certified by ASCP)
