This position is sign on bonus eligible! Experienced RNs are eligible for a bonus of $20,000 for full time night positions, $15,000 for full time day positions and $7,500 for part time positions. 11B - Orthopaedic Trauma provides patient care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients on a 24-hour basis. It is a 19-bed unit with all private rooms. The most common diagnoses stem from orthopaedic trauma injuries, and other traumatic injuries requiring surgical intervention. 11B also supports medical overflow when needed and based on capacity, providing care for patients requiring medical interventions, CPOX monitoring and telemetry monitoring. 11B is aligned with the Atrium Health Plan for Nursing and utilizes the Atrium Health Professional Practice Model for the delivery of patient care, the AACN synergy model for care coordination, and Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring as a theoretical framework for nursing practice.
Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health, which is distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for its excellent patient care and medical expertise. CMC serves as the region’s only Level 1 Trauma center, is Magnet-designated, and also an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas and liver. We also serve as one of North Carolina’s five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals, providing residency training for more than 200 physicians in 15 specialties and serve as a satellite for the medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
