Overview
6 Tower is a Cardiothoracic and Vascular Intermediate Care Post-Surgical unit that provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring less monitoring than ICU, but more than a Medical-Surgical unit. 6T Teammates have the opportunity to provide care to a wide array of patients undergoing various surgical procedures including, but not limited to, coronary artery bypass grafts, heart valve repairs and replacements, thoracic and aortic aneurysm repairs, lobectomies, VATS, advanced wound therapies, limb amputations, peripheral vascular bypass grafts and diagnostic cardiac catheterizations. . Excellent candidates for a position on 6 Tower have exceptional interpersonal skills, thrive in a fast pace and high acuity setting, participate and contribute as an active member of the interdisciplinary care team and seeks out opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Job Summary
The Nurse Aide/Healthcare Technician assists in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe patient environment and performs job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competencies as appropriate to the needs of the patient population served.

Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms. Must have manual and finger dexterity. Physical abilities testing required.
