- Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing

- Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license approved by the Georgia Licensing Board for GA locations and Alabama Licensing Board for AL locations
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification

- Assures Quality Patient Care
- Directs/performs patient care following protocols and policies.
- Rounds on patients daily and resolves patient concerns/complaints as appropriate.
- Maintains open lines of communication and effective working relationship with physicians and interdisciplinary team
- Observes patient care practices in the unit and develops/implements action plans to improve and refine.
- Completes employee performance evaluations on staff in assigned area
- Assesses, Communicates and Utilizes Interdisciplinary team to develop action plans around patient satisfaction data
- Coordinates Unit Staffing Needs
- Organizes monthly staff schedule for the assigned unit assuring appropriate staff coverage.
- Organizes on call schedule for assigned unit (if applicable) as per organizational policy.
- Provides input to interdisciplinary leadership team relative to staffing and variances.
- Organizes routine interdisciplinary staff meetings for effective communication
- Coordinates Unit-Specific, In-Service Education
- Facilitates learning need assessments through peer input, physician requests, and observation of skill levels within the unit.
- Coordinates the completion of unit-specific competencies and other annual education.
- Facilitates the unit-specific orientation of new employees by coordinating orientation schedule and documentation of new employee competencies.
- Coordinates the Collection and Completion of Unit-Specific Data for Performance Improvement
- Collects PI data relative to unit
- Reviews charts as necessary to assure compliance with JCAHO standards and other regulatory issues under the auspices of Director.
- Collects other data as necessary relative to the development of the unit/services.
- Monitors documentation via ongoing chart audits (discharge planning, admission assessments, valuables checklist, etc.) for completion.
- Completes Unit-Specific Projects and Reports as Required
- Completes data collections within defined timeframe and submits to appropriate individual.
- Facilitates ordering of supplies to assure unit has necessary items at all times.
- Maintains equipment usage by contacting Biomed or maintenance for necessary repairs.
- Assess Equipment and Supply need; facilitates appropriate process for securing needed supplies and equipment
- Monitors financial trends to ensure timely interventions.
