Job Summary
The Director of Nursing for Patient Logistics is responsible for strategic oversight and operational performance. The Director will provide leadership, guidance, and direction in achieving outcomes consistent with the mission, vision, goals and behaviors of Atrium Health.
The Director of Nursing for Patient Logistics will work in collaboration with the Transfer Center Medical Directors and other senior leaders to facilitate and advance strategic initiatives to develop and standardize an Enterprise Patient Logistics model including but not limited to Admission, Transfer and Discharge within Atrium Health and other hospital/health systems. This Director is responsible for the for advanced care coordination and oversight for the clinical acumen of the Patient Logistics department through oversight of patient safety, quality and efficiency outcomes as well as teammate and patient satisfaction.
This position works in partnership with the Program Manager of Patient Logistics.
Essential Functions
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or; if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in your home state; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works. MSN required. If undergraduate degree is BSN a master’s degree from a health-related program or MBA is acceptable. Must have MSN if undergraduate degree is not BSN. Appropriate professional leadership certification required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam. Previous leadership experience preferred. Experience working in a Virtual Care setting, Call Center or Transfer Center preferred. Emergency Management experience preferred. Additional education, training, certification, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse leader.
