Atrium Health Pineville
Since opening our doors in 1987, Atrium Health Pineville (235 beds) has offered a personal brand of caring to South Charlotte, Ballantyne, Fort Mill, Rock Hill and beyond.
Over the last few decades, we’ve expanded our campus and services to meet the needs of our growing community. From our roots as a small hospital built on former farmland, Atrium Health Pineville has evolved into a major healthcare hub that provides access to a higher level of care than any other hospital in the area.
Atrium Health Pineville – named among IBM Watson’s Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals for 4 years in a row – offers advanced cardiovascular care from Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, including open heart surgery. Through Levine Cancer Institute, we provide innovative cancer care that’s tailored to your needs, including access to surgical and radiation oncology right here on our campus.
In 2021, Atrium Health Pineville was named a Best Hospital for Maternity by U.S. News & World Report, a Best Hospital for Rehabilitation by U.S News & World Report and Newsweek, and 6 of our programs were recognized for performance scores in the top 10% nationwide – from knee replacement to diabetes and endocrinology.
Patients also have access to other highly specialized services, from robotic surgery and neurosurgery to pediatric urology and beyond.
The Chief Medical Officer Atrium Health Pineville (CMO) will engage and integrate with the Executive Team and Medical Staff leadership to champion and advance the strategies of Atrium Health including those in Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Patient Experience, Health Equity, Provider/Teammate Engagement, Efficiency, Care Utilization and Care Integration.
The CMO is accountable for and provides professional leadership and direction to the utilization/cost management and clinical quality management functions. She/he works collaboratively with other functions that interface with medical management such as provider relations, member services, benefits and claims management. Additionally, the CMO assists in short- and long-range strategic planning, accreditation and regulatory functions, total quality management and external community relationships.
The AH Pineville CMO is responsible for ensuring quality care to all patients of AH Pineville. This requires building relationships with and between the organized medical staff, the hospital and the community. The CMO, in concert with the executive team and clinical leadership, is responsible for monitoring the utilization of clinical resources and support for the professional environment of the providers and the care of the patients who choose Atrium Health.
