Overview
This position is sign on bonus eligible! Experienced RNs are eligible for a bonus of $20,000 for full time night positions, $15,000 for full time day positions and $7,500 for part time positions. NSICU: Neuro Surgical Intensive Care unit - The NSICU provides comprehensive patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients on a 24-hour per day basis. NSICU is a 29-bed unit with all private rooms, three negative pressure rooms and two fully equipped nursing stations with central monitoring available on either side. Common diagnoses for these patients include but are not limited to subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, epidural hematoma, spinal cord injuries, Code Stroke, head trauma, intracranial hemorrhages, brain tumors, continuous EEG and carotid endarterectomies. The NSICU has the capability of placing patients in a progressive or ICU status according to physician orders. This allows for flexibility and continuity of patient care. The unit is aligned with the CMC Plan for Nursing and utilizes the CMC Professional Practice Model for the delivery of patient care, the AACN synergy model for care coordination, and Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring as a theoretical framework for nursing practice.
Job Summary
Provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with policies and procedures under the supervision of the supervisor and manager. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.
