Job Summary

Works in partnership with the Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) Council and other senior leaders to facilitate and advance strategic initiatives in care delivery and care coordination, with attention to patient safety, quality and service. This position oversees all oncology clinic operations at LCI Morehead, LCI Gaston, LCI Lincoln, LCI Rutherfordton and LCI Cleveland.

Essential Functions

  • Provides leadership and serves as a resource to facilitate the work of the System Nurse Executive.
  • Serves as a facilitator and change agent for the development and implementation of system-wide and nursing specific strategy and management action plans.
  • Collaborates with CNE council members to implement nursing management action plans at the business unit level.
  • Provides creativity to engage system nursing leadership and team members to ensure consistency across the patient care platform for the development and implementation of programs and activities to promote nursing excellence.
  • Facilitates system-wide responsibility for coordinating policies and programmatic activities that enhance the nursing culture, inter-professional partnerships and the work environment.


Physical Requirements

Work requires walking, standing, and sitting. Works in an office environment. Must speak English in good, understandable terms. Intact sense of sight and hearing. Work requires critical thinking and ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly in stressful situations. Must be able to lift 35 pounds of weight.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure in appropriate state. MSN required. If undergraduate degree is BSN a master’s degree from a health-related program or MBA is acceptable. Must have MSN if undergraduate degree is not BSN. PhD or DNP preferred. Appropriate professional leadership certification required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam. Previous leadership experience preferred. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nursing leader.
