Carolinas Rehabilitation Department of Neuropsychology

 

Carolinas Rehabilitation - Northeast, a member hospital of Atrium Health, has an immediate opening for an Adult Neuropsychologist in the Department of Neuropsychology & Psychology. The primary responsibilities of the Neuropsychologist will include outpatient neuropsychological evaluations of a diverse patient population, including those diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, and dementias.  Consultation requests are received from a variety of medical specialties, including physiatry, neurology, neurosurgery, primary care, and psychiatry. The Neuropsychologist will also provide inpatient consultative services to a diverse medical population, with focus on capacity assessment at Carolinas Medical Center and Carolinas Rehabilitation.  Additional duties may include attendance at multidisciplinary team case conferences and service as the liaison for a neurology-based specialty service.  The position is supported by psychometrist staff.

 

Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. or Psy.D in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-approved or equivalent training program. The successful candidate will also have completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology that meets Division 40 criteria. Applicants must be eligible to practice psychology in NC and obtain board certification in Neuropsychology.

 

The Department of Neuropsychology & Psychology at Carolinas Rehabilitation is currently comprised of 9 adult neuropsychologists, 2 pediatric neuropsychologists, 7 psychometrists, and 3 psychotherapists. Our team continues to grow to meet the needs of the Atrium Health system. Neuropsychology staff members are encouraged to participate in regularly scheduled team didactics, as well as grand rounds presentations. Opportunities for research exist across the hospital system.
