In 1998, our EC received designation as a Level I Trauma Center, one of only five in the entire state of Georgia. We are one of two Level I Trauma Centers found south of Atlanta, becoming Georgia’s first nationally verified Level I Trauma Center in 2016. Patients are flown to our facility via helicopter from south of Atlanta to as far south as Jacksonville, Florida.

"We are trained to care for traumatic injuries, acute illnesses, chronic illnesses, psychiatric conditions and many, many more things!  We are a 62-bed unit that is busy and fast-paced with exceptional team work you will not find anywhere else.
