Job Summary

Responsible for all aspects of commercial land and property rights creating value through the strategic management and assessment of Atrium Health real property.  Responsible for mitigating risk and protecting the interests and rights of Atrium Health as it relates to real property.

Essential Functions

  • Must have experience and expertise in and ability to lead:
    • Entitlement, zoning/rezoning efforts
    • Land and real property acquisition and disposition activity (including evaluations, justifications, capital approvals, RFP process, appraisals, coordination and tracking of pre/post closing activities)
    • Procurement and review of all due diligence studies (legal, development, environmental, physical property conditions)
    • All easement, right-of-entry, and eminent domain activity
    • Annual property tax reconciliation process
  • Must have expertise in analysis of legal descriptions, property reports, surveys and plans
  • Will serve as key liaison with site & civil engineering consultants handling traffic and parking studies, site evaluations
  • Will work with Atrium Health Planning, Design and Construction on pre-planning, planning and permitting issues
  • Ability to work closely with the Office of General Counsel and other legal resources
  • Organizes and maintains records on all real property
  • Fosters relationships with state and local agencies
  • Consistently improves and standardizes processes for development to ensure lean, efficient and effective processes
  • Possesses excellent written & oral communication, teamwork and organization skills
  • Practices relationship-building, networking, team building and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently to manage and prioritize multiple projects and assignments simultaneously to achieve deadlines and desired outcomes in a fast-paced environment
  • Lead special projects as assigned
  • Expert at Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project. Ability to work efficiently within Archibus, eBuilder, CoreConnect and Sharepoint.
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to supervise teammates
Physical Requirements


Works in an office environment 50% of the time, sitting and working with standard office equipment (computer, telephone, fax, copier, etc.). Remaining 50% is spent in healthcare facility or support services setting. Requires considerable walking and standing while conducting surveys and training sessions. Must be able to carry up to 15 pounds of materials and various types of equipment. Travel to other facilities is required. Subject to indoor/outdoor environmental conditions. May be subject to hazards (i.e. chemicals, mechanical parts) and atmosphere conditions (i.e. fumes, odors, dusts, mists). Responsible for working in a safe environment and utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree and professional licensure (i.e., PE, AIA) or Master's Degree required. Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in related discipline required.
