Our Medical ICU is a unit that focuses in the care of the critically ill patient with medical diagnoses and complications. Patient populations can include sepsis, DKA, COPD, and abdominal issues such as bowel obstructions. In addition to A-fib, heart failure, and other cardiac related issues and some neuro patients. RNs new to MICU nursing are enrolled in the Critical Care Academy (CCA) and also have the ability to cross-orient in the emergency department!

The CCA is a competency-based orientation program that includes:
bedside experience with a dedicated Preceptor
didactic classes utilizing, in part, the Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses)
seminars which help to connect the didactic learning with the clinical experience
simulation labs to increase assessment, competency, and critical thinking skills.
Virtual Critical Care (VCC), an amazing capability that allows critical care nurses, RRTs, and physicians to be accessible by just pressing one button in your patient's room. The physicians are worldwide, so it provides some awesome learning opportunities throughout your shift!

What you will need:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing
Current valid Georgia nursing license or eNLC nursing license
A passion to do your best!
