This position is Sign-on Bonus eligible. Registered Nurses are eligible for a bonus of $20,000 for full time night positions. FT Nights; weekend and holiday requirements
NPCN is a step down unit from the NICU. NPCN cares for Level II and III babies including but not limited to trachs, ostomies, pre-ops, PCVCs and PIVs, High Flow Nasal Canula, babies on at least 50% enteral feedings, NAS, etc. The staffing ratio is 1:3 or 1:4. The unit is licensed for 32 beds and have the capacity to go up to 36 babies when NICU is above capacity as well. NPCN receives babies from the newborn nursery and transfers from LCH NICU as well as outlying hospitals. NPCN see much of the same diagnoses as the NICU.

It serves high patient acuity as the flagship children’s hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 25 different pediatric specialties. There are 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a 20-bed PICU (including Cardiac ICU), an 85-bed NICU< and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility. Levine Children’s also has the region’s first 24/7 emergency room just for kids, staffed by doctors trained in pediatric emergency medicine. LCH has repeatedly been ranked among the “Best Children’s Hospitals” in the nation by US News & World Report.
Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
