Job SummaryPerforms professional and administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the development, coordination and operations of the Metrolina Healthcare Preparedness program. Performs coordination for and support of activities related to the upkeep, maintenance, and functionality of all Metrolina Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (MHPC) disaster response program vehicles and equipment. Ensure proper fleet maintenance programs to all assets and vehicles. Maintain a working knowledge of all vehicles and equipment related to the State Medical Response System. Must be available to operate non-CDL required vehicles as needed and on short notice.
Bachelor's Degree in public administration or healthcare related field and experience in administering a program or grant; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s Degree preferred. 4 years relevant work experience (emergency management, project administration, disaster management) required. Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of emergency services, grant administration, and project management for local, state, and federal projects. Considerable knowledge of trends and current developments in the field of emergency medical services and hospital disaster response planning. Ability to establish and administer a variety of projects requiring coordination over a geographic region involving multiple agencies. Possess good organizational skills and be self-directed in undertaking daily activities and establishing goals. Ability to express ideas verbally and in writing. Ability to provide leadership to team members, program participants and community members. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels including, federal, state and local.
