Levine Children's Hospital 5 - Observation/Infusion Unit consists of 12 beds with a mixed population of observation and short stay inpatients. Most of our patients are surgical or procedural and are here for less than 48 hours. Our surgical patients are usually children who have had an appendectomy, cleft lip or palate repair, or cardiac catheterization. We also care for children requiring special testing such as FPIES studies, plasmapheresis, and water deprivation studies. This part time position is for 2 12-hr shifts, 7a - 7p, per week.

There are 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a 20-bed PICU (including Cardiac ICU), an 85-bed NICU< and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility. Levine Children’s also has the region’s first 24/7 emergency room just for kids, staffed by doctors trained in pediatric emergency medicine.
