Overview
This position is sign-on bonus eligible! Experienced RNs are eligible for a bonus of $15,000 for full time positions and $7,500 for part time positions. 11A Trauma Step-Down is a 24-bed unit that provides care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. 11A is considered an Intermediate Level Medical-Surgical floor. With telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry capabilities, the unit can care for many types of patients, however, the unit’s specialty is the trauma patient. Patients typically seen on 11A are those with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chest & abdominal trauma (blunt force or penetrating), and orthopedic injuries resulting from trauma. Carolinas Medical Center is the region’s only Level 1 trauma center and 11A trauma step down is proud to care for this unique patient population.
Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health, which is distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for its excellent patient care and medical expertise. CMC serves as the region’s only Level 1 Trauma center, is Magnet-designated, and also an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas and liver. We also serve as one of North Carolina’s five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals, providing residency training for more than 200 physicians in 15 specialties and serve as a satellite for the medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Job Summary
Responsible for the direct provision of patient care and for assisting the manager with daily operations to include but not limited to coordination of patient care/outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, communications, patient throughput, program development and oversight, patient, physician and employee rounding, selection, development, and retention of staff, clinical supervision and performance appraisal, performance improvement activities, service recovery and compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
