Overview

The Carolinas Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program of Atrium Health is seeking an experienced program director to facilitate the operations and administration of their 12/12/12 residency program in Charlotte, NC. The program director will oversee the family medicine educational program, monitor appropriate resident supervision, and ensure a stable and appropriate clinical learning environment for residents in their 3 tracks - Urban Underserved / Biddle Point, Traditional / Elizabeth, and Community Apprenticeship / Union Tracks. 

Atrium Health is developing a new medical school affiliated with Wake Forest University School of Medicine with its first class to start in 2024.  The medical school will have an emphasis on educating students that are underrepresented in medicine and caring for those in underserved communities. 

Qualified Candidates Will Be/Have: 
•    Board-certified by ABFM or AOBFP with current medical licensure
•    3+ years of documented educational and/or administrative experience as faculty
•    An excellent clinical role model, exhibiting competence in professionalism
•    Experienced in recruiting residents and teaching medical students
•    Excellent communication and organizational skills
Position Details:
•    Approximately 70% of time supported for administration and operations of residency program
•    30% of time split among continuity clinic, precepting, and hospital attending
•    Rotating at home call supporting residents 
•    Submit accurate updates to ACGME for annual updates and resident records and compilation of annual program evaluation to DIO and GMEC
•    Perform and document twice yearly cumulative evaluations of each resident while ensuring accurate reporting of the twice-yearly Clinical Competency Committee meetings
•    Oversee development and maintenance of detailed competency-based goals and objectives for entire curriculum
•    Mentor and supervise post-graduate chief resident
•    Manage aspects of resident recruitment, including supervision of program webpage and content associated with the program
•    Provide oversight of program’s compliance with ACGME duty hour standards
•    Implement policies and procedures consistent with institutional and program requirements for resident duty hours and the working environment
•    Manage individual resident issues as they arise
