Job Summary
Provides direction and oversight to all activities that fall under the center's mission including all pre-hospital and disaster preparedness education, disaster planning and response.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Works in the administrative office as well as the classroom, hospital/field clinical rotations. Required to travel to Mecklenburg EMS Agency, local area hospitals, and clinics for recruitment and oversight. Must be able to work flexible hours depending upon program or course schedule, to include evenings and weekends. Requires walking, sitting, standing, lifting of heavy training equipment, and operation of medical equipment.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in clinical or scientific field preferred. Master's Degree in nursing or education preferred. 3 years or more of direct pre-hospital education experience required. EMT-P required. RN preferred. Possesses NC-OEMS Paramedic Instructor certification or obtain credential within 6 months of hire. Must maintain ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS instructor certifications. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.
