Position Summary:                                                                                                                                                              

The Vice President, Mobile Medicine is administratively responsible for strategic oversight and operational performance of Mobile Medicine services across the region.  Scope includes the following specialties: air and ground transportation, Mobile Integrated Health, communication/dispatch, Med 1, EMS/9-1-1 services, daily operations.

This position reports directly to the Enterprise Senior Vice President, Nursing and Pharmacy.  The VP will advance Mobile Medicine programs for operational effectiveness and efficiency, clinical quality, growth, innovation, and affordability.  Directly supervises all administrative leaders within the assigned region, work collaboratively across the enterprise, nationally ranked outcomes in clinical care and patient experience, effective communication, heightened brand awareness, and consistently strong financial performance are all expectations of this leadership.

The VP will be a strong visionary leader with proven ability to lead one of the region’s largest and most complex lines of business during a time of growth and change within the organization and surrounding market. The VP will envision and enact the future of the Mobile Medicine, understanding how population health relates to and interfaces with primary care. He/she will bring instant credibility with a track record of successfully translating strategic vision into reality by drawing upon in-depth knowledge of day-to-day   business operations, patient experience, continuous process improvement, change management, quality care, productivity management, and employee engagement. Contributes to improving capacity management through coordination with patient access within and across regions.

It is critical that the VP bring an exceptional track record for building effective working relationships with both clinical and administrative leaders as characterized by establishing mutual respect, trust, and strategic involvement. The VP must be adept at working through influence in a highly matrixed environment with a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with all key stakeholders to facilitate alignment of goals between Mobile Medicine and the enterprise’s overarching strategic vision and operating initiatives.

Position Accountabilities:                                                                                                                                                  

  1. Ensures workforce strategy that supports the business strategy of Mobile Medicine, including staffing, aligning skills with roles, leadership development, diversity, and inclusion.  Responsible for all staff selection, budgeted FTE, and maintaining salaries of workforce in accordance with policies and guidelines set by Human Resources and Finance.
  2. Leads fiscal reviews of internal resources in order to promote an efficient and effective environment for all departments/areas of responsibility. Responsible for overall budget related to Mobile Medicine services.
  3. Responsible for enhancing existing services or creating new services across the care continuum, in an efficient and cost-effective manner, based upon observation and development with regional stakeholders.
  4. Leads integration and optimization of operations of Mobile Med across all regions.
  5. Demonstrates knowledge/expertise regarding change readiness, cultural change, and impact of change on organizations.
  6. Responsible for value-based care, episode bundles, and/or population health as related to Mobile Medicine services.
  7.  Develops and implements specific operational goals and objectives on an annual basis in support of the hospital’s strategic plan and in concert with the overall plan for Mobile Medicine services.
  8. Ensures alignment of performance metrics and organizational strategy for the business.
  9. Leads and oversees quality control during the development of process maps and frameworks that support improved organizational design and alignment for the business.
  10. In coordination with regional leaders, responsible for the development of long range operational, growth plans, and performance excellence initiatives.
  11. Supports the activities of the system Foundation, participating in community events and representing Mobile Medicine to the greater marketplace.
  12. Ensures alignment with business administrators and leaders responsible for local implementation of daily operations.
  13. Represents Mobile Medicine in local, state, regional and national organizations, and societies.
  14. Responsible for the social imperative initiative to create greater access to all underrepresented communities.
  15. Collaborates with marketing to enhance the brand strength of Mobile Medicine services.



  • Masters degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration preferred.
  • Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) preferred

Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in change management and cultural improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and process management consistent with scale and scope of Atrium Mobile Med.
  • Experience and knowledge of the medical environment, healthcare contracting, financial and operational systems.
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills that will foster trust, clear vision, mutual respect and positive staff and physician relations.
