Job Summary
The Director, Contract Analytics Purchased Service Value Optimization, provides leadership and oversight for the team of analysts who support the design and delivery of metrics, reports and activities associated with the monitoring of contract performance, savings tracking, administrative fees and rebates associated with purchased services contracts that will help Atrium Health manage and reduce over $1B in non-payroll spend. This includes all elements of the contracting life cycle: Design, Negotiation, Implementation and Measure.

Essential Functions
  • Partners with the AVP of Measurement and Analytics to develop and lead an innovative approach to measuring the effectiveness of purchased services contracts based on the definition of minimum attributes rather than brand preference.
  • Ensures that all requested data and analytics are communicated timely and effectively to the Design, Negotiate, Implement and Measure teams through open and multi-directional communication.
  • Collaborates with System leaders outside of Materials Resource Management (quality, finance, patient experience, etc.) to design appropriate reporting mechanisms.
  • Leads a complex, highly-skilled team of analysts to successfully deliver on concurrent data requests for multiple complex project requests across all areas of the PSVO Contract Life Cycle.
  • Develops analytic tools and performance metrics to use in value analysis and contract specification measurement. Facilitates work sessions as needed with customers to obtain necessary project information or guide team in project execution.
  • Implements creative analysis to challenge common thinking and present new solutions or frame strategic alternatives and to improve value optimization of purchased services contracts.
  • Prepares recommendations and alternatives to present themes, ideas or conclusions for executive consideration.
  • Reviews and approves reports and analytics utilizing various clinical, business, statistical and technical tools.
Physical Requirements
Generally works in an office environment, sitting at a desk, working with a computer, talking on the telephone, and preparing reports and other statistical data. Time is spent in meetings at a variety of Atrium Health facilities, making presentations and offering advice to PSVO or other System leaders. On occasion, requires standing, walking and traveling in personal car to other facilities. Also, occasionally requires carrying up to 25 pounds of materials (files, projectors, laptops). Position also requires the ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure, to work in a safe and effective manner, and to handle different issues and priorities simultaneously.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors degree in computer science, business administration or related field required. Masters degree preferred. Ten years of experience in general business or healthcare analytics setting with at least 5 years of management responsibility required. Experience in project management and business process redesign. Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects or McKesson Performance Analytics required. Be able and willing to learn to use other programs and operating systems (i.e.: Tableau, SQL, SharePoint, Horizon Performance Manager, Business Objects, Premier, STAR, EPIC, Emerald, Cerner, SAS, PDS). Formal training in information systems technology is desirable: desktop applications, software development applications, databases and programming languages. Superior analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills required. Strategic thinker with a strong bias towards action. Pursues continuing education/certifications to advance knowledge of resource and supply management, analytics, clinical outcome measurement, operational effectiveness and project management.
