***Position requires travel.  Main office is located at CHS Northeast***

Job Summary
The Service Line Clinical Respiratory Educator supports facility Respiratory Leaders with teammate orientation, education, competency. Assists Service Line Assistant Vice President with system-wide clinical initiatives that impact direct patient care.

Essential Functions



  • Serves as Metro Respiratory BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP Instructor.
  • Develops and maintains standard policies and procedures for Atrium Health Metro Respiratory Services.
  • Maintains and updates Atrium Health Metro Respiratory Services SharePoint site.
  • Develops and maintains orientation, educational, and regulatory materials for Atrium Health Metro Respiratory Services.
  • Serves as primary contact with North Carolina Respiratory Care Board for Continuing Education activities (acquiring CEU�s).
  • Serves as Metro Respiratory representative for Atrium Health�s Education Committee.
  • Serves as Metro Respiratory Care liaison to Information Services.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate technical and mechanical Respiratory Care equipment.

Physical Requirements
Works both in the office and patient care areas. Involves sitting, standing, walking, and writing. Able to walk and stand to perform duties. Ability to lift materials 20-50 pounds. Ability to move patients of all age groups.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Licensed as a Respiratory Care Provider by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board. Registered as a RRT through the National Board for Respiratory Care. Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy, and 5 years of critical care experience in an acute care facility or a RRT equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of critical care experience in an acute care facility is required. Bachelors degree required. Master�s degree preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider from AHA is required. Must show evidence of active membership in the national chapter of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) is required. BLS required. ACLS, PALS and NRP within six months of employment.
